Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of Montebello Residents Directory. By continuing to use the pages, you accept these terms. Do not use the service if you do not agree with them.

1. What This Reference Is

Montebello Residents Directory is a privately operated reference service. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, court and state portals, and historical directory collections related to Montebello, California. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with a city, county, state, federal, court, library, or records custodian.

2. Lawful Use Rules

Use the pages only for lawful purposes. You may not use the service or anything found through it to:

  • stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or hurt someone;
  • locate a person protected by a restraining or protective order;
  • commit fraud or identity theft;
  • make a decision covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions;
  • scrape, copy, or republish the pages at scale; or
  • interfere with the service, its security, or its operation.

3. No Consumer Reports

This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 and following. Neither the page content nor results returned by a linked search provider are consumer reports. They may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or any other purpose regulated by the FCRA.

4. External Services

Government portals, libraries, courts, data providers, and sponsored search tools set their own terms and privacy policies. Montebello Residents Directory does not control their content, availability, pricing, security, or data practices. A link is not an endorsement or a guarantee that a result is correct.

5. No Warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that a statement, fee, coverage date, link, search result, or outside portal is accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose. Always confirm a record with its custodian.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of the pages or a linked resource. This includes a decision made from a record located through the reference.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the operators harmless from claims, demands, losses, and reasonable attorneys’ fees arising from your misuse of the service or violation of these terms.

8. Original Material

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short excerpt with attribution is welcome. Republishing full pages or systematically copying the collection is not permitted.

9. Changes

The operators may revise these terms by posting a new version on this page. Using the service after a revision means that the updated terms are accepted.

10. Access Restrictions

Access may be blocked or limited for a person who violates these terms, abuses the service, or threatens its security. This may occur without advance notice.

11. California Law

California law governs these terms without applying its conflict-of-law rules. Public-record references are informed by the California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 through 7931.000. Privacy matters may also involve the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, Civil Code section 1798.100 and following, and the Delete Act, Civil Code section 1798.99.80 and following. Those statutes govern the relevant custodian or covered business; they do not turn this private reference into a records office.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page.
