Information You Submit
Search terms entered into the name, phone, or address boxes are sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Montebello Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search entries on its own servers. If you contact the operators, the message and any information in it are visible so a reply can be sent.
Routine Technical Logs
The hosting service may record an IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps in ordinary server logs. These records are reviewed in aggregate to maintain the service and understand which reference pages are useful. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement when those services are enabled.
How the Information Is Used
Information is used to operate the pages, troubleshoot failures, measure broad traffic, and improve the reference material. The operators do not sell visitor lists or build an individual profile from a reader’s activity.
Links and Search Providers
The pages link to county and state portals, courts, libraries, archives, and other services. A linked provider controls its own privacy practices and the information submitted there. This includes the sponsored search results, which are supplied by a separate company.
Who Can Process Logs
Hosting and technical service providers may process server logs to keep the pages running. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the routine technical data described above. Information is disclosed when valid legal process requires it; otherwise it is not shared as a visitor list.
Security and Retention
The site is served over an encrypted connection. Logs are retained only for the operational needs described in this policy. Because there are no visitor accounts, the site does not hold a password or user profile that could be exposed here.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. The operators do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information, use the Contact page to request its deletion.
California Data Rights
California’s Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, appears in Civil Code section 1798.100 and following. The Delete Act appears in Civil Code section 1798.99.80 and following. Depending on coverage and exceptions, those laws can provide access, correction, deletion, and opt-out rights for personal information held by covered businesses. The California Privacy Protection Agency’s DROP mechanism opened to consumers on January 1, 2026; registered data brokers must check it at least every 45 days beginning August 1, 2026.
Because this reference keeps little visitor information, a request normally means searching the contact mailbox and relevant server logs, then removing what is found when a lawful request applies. Use the Contact page to ask. The California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 through 7931.000, governs records held by state, county, and city custodians, not by this private reference. Requests to remove a deed, court file, voter record, or vital record must go to the office that holds it.
Policy Changes
If the privacy policy changes, the revised wording will be posted here. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
